About Dr. Bemanian
Shahrooz Bemanian, MD, FACP, MA, MS, is a board-certified gastroenterologist at Digestive Disease Consultants of Orange County, with locations in Irvine, Huntington Beach, Tustin, and Foothill Ranch, California.
Ever since Dr. Bemanian was a young child, he was determined to become a doctor. Helping people reach their health goals appealed to him. It was, however, after watching a close family member deal with the devastation of colon cancer that he knew without a doubt he wanted to specialize in the field of gastroenterology.
Dr. Bemanian earned his Master of Science and Doctor of Medicine at Chicago Medical School. He completed his residency at the University of Southern California (USC), as well as his fellowship in gastroenterology/hepatology and liver transplantation. He is board-certified in gastroenterology/hepatology and internal medicine.
He has earned numerous awards throughout this medical career, including the Physicians of Excellence Award, the USC Resident of the Year, the American Liver Foundation/American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases Resident Scholar Award, and the USC Sabina Brautbar Resident Scholar Award.
Dr. Bemanian’s special interests include colon cancer prevention, stomach and esophageal cancer detection, hemorrhoids treatment, nonsurgical weight-loss treatment, and advanced biliary interventional endoscopy. He incorporates the latest endoscopy technology in his procedures, diagnosing, preventing, and treating gastrointestinal disorders, including esophageal, gastric, and colon cancer.
To stay up to date on the latest advancements in his field, Dr. Bemanian is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, the Southern California Society of Gastroenterology, the Orange County Gastroenterology Association, and the Orange County Medical Association.
For Dr. Bemanian, the years of education, training, and hard work that led him down this path have provided the ability to focus on one goal: attending to the patient in front of him, no matter what the future of medicine holds.
Dr. Bemanian is native to Southern California and is fluent in Farsi/Persian. He enjoys spending time with his wife and children.
